Healthy citizens create healthy communities, and the “Be Outside, Idaho” parent, caregiver, educator, health professional, outdoor specialist, business and other partner networks can provide a wealth of opportunities and resources for your city or county!

How can BOI help you?

“Be Outside, Idaho” can help connect your local citizens with nature across the State of Idaho! We can help you by:

  • Realizing the power of partnerships at many private-public levels, including state, federal, business, nonprofit, education, and more.

  •  Connecting you to others so that limited resources can be shared and leveraged, gaining strong partnerships and work on the ground in your communities.

History

Since 2007, Idaho’s citizens have benefited from strong support from their elected officials, including former Governor C. L.  “Butch” Otter, First Lady Lori Otter, the Idaho congressional delegation, state legislators, city mayors and council members, and county commissioners.  In 2011, SCR 113 was passed by Idaho’s Senate and House, encouraging outdoor experiences for youth and their families, as well as land stewardship.  In 2008 and again in 2012, Governor Otter issued official proclamations encouraging Idaho’s youth to lead healthy lives by being outdoors.

Leaders at all levels can find many ways to support “Be Outside, Idaho” efforts across the State of Idaho, and “Be Outside, Idaho”  can help you, too. Your leadership is integral to the success of the “Be Outside, Idaho” mission to connect Idaho’s youth from backyards to mountaintops.
